"IN ALL THY WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM"

The religious tenets or important points of Christian Science are to be found in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The second tenet reads (p. 497): "We acknowledge and adore one supreme and infinite God. We acknowledge His Son, one Christ; the Holy Ghost or divine Comforter; and man in God's image and likeness." As we contemplate this statement, it becomes increasingly apparent that correct acknowledgment is very important in the understanding and practice of Christian Science. It is one of the fundamental points which needs to be understood.

According to a dictionary, the word "acknowledge" means "to recognize as a fact or as one's own." In Proverbs we read (3:6), "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Absolute Christian Science leads one to recognize or acknowledge in all the ways of life that which is already present as the spiritual fact.

Correct acknowledgment stems from God, since God, Mind, is the only cause or creator. Therefore we can conclude that what God is seeing and knowing of Himself and His spiritual creation is the only correct knowledge concerning everything. This correct view, then, is what man, the reflection of God, is acknowledging, since man can know only what Mind knows.
