Forward Steps

[Extracts from reports prepared for the Reading Room Division by executive boards of branch churches]

Tarrytown, New York

We rented a corner store in the center of the shopping section of the village for our new Reading Room. This unfoldment came when we were willing to take the forward steps to move our Reading Room downtown. We are now in a block that houses a large supermarket and has very ample parking facilities.

A consecrated and hard-working committee and a decorator transformed what had been a dingy cleaning establishment into a charming and restful Reading Room, which is now open not only daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. but also two evenings a week.
