For some time I have felt an earnest desire to contribute my testimony so that it may help others. Our family's healings have been many and varied, and all have come because of the study and application of Christian Science.
Several years ago while we were returning from our vacation and were about five hundred miles at sea, I awakened with my right foot severely swollen and badly discolored. There were many suggestions of fear expressed, but not for an instant did I take them in.
Turning to our textbooks, the Bible and Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, I earnestly studied and pondered every word I read. The pain seemed beyond bearing, but suddenly the words from one of our hymns (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 51), came to me:
