In counting my blessings, I believe the physical healing for which I am most grateful was one of a condition which was very difficult to overcome. This experience was the first one in which I was put to a real test to prove my understanding of Christian Science. When I took up the study of this Science ten years previous to this healing, I was in search of a religion, not a physical healing.

I became a member of a physical education class, in which periodical physical examinations were required. Once when I was called into the doctor's office for an examination, I was told that, because of my physical condition, I could not continue in the class. The pronouncement was made that I had an organic heart condition.

I became obsessed with fear, fear of everything and everyone. This manifested itself in nervousness, dizziness, and weakness which many times made me think I might fall into unconsciousness. I felt quite alarmed and called for help from a Christian Science practitioner. He asked me to declare repeatedly, "Now am I the son of God—now, now!" This declaration helped me so much that I was able to do my normal household duties with ease.
