Signs of the Times
From an article in the Lewisham Borough News London, England
"Say a little prayer for me," called the nonchurchgoing neighbor to a friend who was on her way to an evening service. It was a most revealing request, for it could mean either one of two things.
First, it might have meant, "You pray to God on my behalf, because I am in need of His help, and I believe your prayer will help together with mine." Second, it could have meant: "I am really rather busy, too busy to say my prayers. Would you mind doing it for me?"
