About thirty years ago I was afflicted with a serious infection of the eyelids which defied some of the best specialists in this country. While a patient in a military hospital I became acquainted with a young Army officer who was being treated for infection of bones in the face and for sinus trouble. For nearly ten years he had been under treatment by well-known specialists and had undergone many operations. However, he steadily grew worse and was not expected to live. At this point he became interested in Christian Science, and after three day's treatment he was entirely healed.

About six months after his healing my friend called on me and inquired about my progress, which I told him had not been good. He related his experience with Christian Science and recommended that I try it. Although skeptical, I visited a practitioner the next evening and discussed the problem for an hour or more. Every question or argument I put to her was answered to my satisfaction. I requested Christian Science treatment, and the next morning I awoke completely healed. Then I requested treatment for my vision, for which I had needed glasses for nine years. That was many years ago, and I have not worn glasses since that time. Both healings have been permanent.

My gratefulness to Christian Science for these and other healings is indeed well founded. My experience over the years has proved to me that the teachings of Christian Science provide an understanding of Life and a peace of mind always sought by mankind, but often in vain. I have found that the one Mind is ever available to govern and direct us to the extent that we seek it and accept it. The power of God knows no limitation, and this power for good is always at hand.
