It has been my privilege to have Christian Science as my help and guide throughout my life. It has always met my need of health, right relationships, and supply, thus enabling me to work out problems in school, in my business career, in marriage, and in church activities.

Deafness was overcome very early in my experience over forty years ago. The healing was not instantaneous, but through the prayerful work of my parents, then young students of Christian Science, and the help of a Christian Science practitioner, a permanent healing resulted. During this period of consecrated work, traits of character were uncovered that needed to be corrected. Among them were apathy, shyness, and disobedience. I had found it convenient to retire within myself, not answering when spoken to or when demands were made upon me. When this trait was uncovered and replaced with a willingness to listen and a joyous desire to be obedient, the healing quickly followed.

I should also like to relate a healing which took place in our home while I was a high school student. One Sunday afternoon while I was doing my homework upstairs I heard my mother running up the stairs with my young brother close behind her. She called to me to please help my brother, who had been hit in the nose by a baseball. I quickly turned to the Concordance to Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, for I had been learning in Sunday School how to use it in working out specific problems. Two words came to my thought, "inflammation" and "fear"; so I started to search out references that would give me the healing truth quickly in this urgent need.
