HOW CHRISTIAN SCIENCE HEALS February 23, 1957 Issue

RADIO PROGRAM No. 179 - A Mother's Opportunity

Speaker: Everyone wants to be well and happy, but so often someone feels that he or a loved one seems to be condemned to suffer illness and fear. Our guest was confronted with just such a situation. But through gaining an entirely different concept of God and His tender care for all of His children, she was healed and then was able to bring up a fine, healthy family. I'd like to introduce Mrs. Helen Wallace of Cazenovia, New York. Mrs. Wallace, will you please tell us your experience?

Mrs. Wallace: When I was a child, I had a severe attack of diphtheria, and it left me with a weak heart. After I was married and was expecting a child, I was reduced to invalidism. The doctor told me I had very high blood pressure and also a kidney condition. After my daughter was born, he said it would be suicide for me to have any more children. He said that X rays and other tests showed an enlarged heart and a valvular leakage.

Then a couple of years later I was badly injured in an automobile accident. The injuries affected my digestive system, and i was placed on a diet of liquids and baby foods. The doctors did their best to help me, but they finally said there was nothing more that could be done.
