WHAT MORE CAN WE ASK?

"Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine," we read in Christ Jesus' parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:31). So spoke an understanding father to an elder son, who, believing his younger brother was receiving favored attention, felt envious and neglected. And so speaks a loving Father-Mother God to each of us, His children. He tenderly addresses us as "son." He declares that we are forever inseparable from His love and protection. And He announces, "All that I have is thine." What more can we ask?

It is a tendency of mortal mind always to be asking for more—more of whatever it thinks it needs for comfort and satisfaction. One of the most persistent of human yearnings is the longing to be loved and appreciated, cherished and protected. Not everyone is aware, however, that there is available a great love that is constant, satisfying, and unfailing. This love is the love of God.

Too often we fail to remember God's love for us because it may seem intangible, remote, or out of reach. God's love is fully tangible to spiritual sense, and being infinite, it is everywhere present. The warmth of His love is readily felt by all who, either through a pure desire for good or through trials and disappointments, are made ready to feel it.
