A PROGRESSIVE CHURCH
A progressive church is a spiritually active church. And that a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, may be thus active, the members need to possess a genuine and deep appreciation of Christian Science. They need to recognize that the mission of their church is to proclaim the presence of God's kingdom, to teach the truth of being to mankind, and tenderly to heal humanity of its sicknesses and troubles.
Through the efforts of Christian Scientists, the transforming truths of being are brought to the world. Many searchers for Truth are finding through Science that God is all-inclusive Mind and that His creation of perfect ideas is inseparable from Him, exists eternally within Him, and is governed by Him.
In the measure that church members actually accept these truths and utilize them in their church activities, a branch church progresses in harmony and usefulness. Healings occur within and outside a spiritually active membership, and no exhibitions of human will are likely to occur in that church to mar its harmony and distract it from its true objective.
