SUPPLY

Christ Jesus demonstrated for all mankind the spiritual nature of supply when he fed the multitude with seven loaves and a few fishes. In the fifteenth chapter of Matthew we read (verses 36, 37): "He took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full." The infinite Love which Christ Jesus manifested enabled him to see beyond the finite form of bread and fish to unlimited, unfailing, infinite Truth, which satisfies. This discernment enabled him to bless all who were seeking the truth.

Mary Baker Eddy writes (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 206), "In the scientific relation of God to man, we find that whatever blesses one blesses all, as Jesus showed with the loaves and the fishes,—Spirit, not matter, being the source of supply."

To multiply or enlarge our concept of Truth, we must put into practice at every opportunity the truth we already know. As we keep our thinking alert to the scientific facts of Truth, our perception is sharpened, and we are able quickly to detect suggestions of error for what they are—fraudulent claims of mortal mind. The allness of God includes infinite detail, and no idea is too small or insignificant to come under the jurisdiction of His law of indivisible good. This law annuls the claims of limitation or loss. Adherence to Principle in every detail of our experience enables us to demonstrate the truth of the inspired Word of the Bible.
