"Throw wide the gates of Heaven"

What unbounded good can come from just one Christian Science lecture! The following extract from a letter written to The Mother Church by a Christian Science Society tells of some of the many blessings that were experienced as the result of a lecture which the society gave and for which loving and expectant preparation was made.

"The progress of our society during the past year seems clearly focused on the giving of our first lecture. Preparation for this event was a completely happy experience. Everyone we were in touch with in regard to the hiring of the hall, the advertising and printing, and the placing of posters announcing the event was most helpful and co-operative.

"The hall met our need in every way, and the obtaining of it was a demonstration of Love's provision for our lecture. When we inquired about the hall, we were told that it was not the policy of the management to have it used on Sundays, but that just previous to our request two other religious denominations had been granted this privilege, and therefore the management saw no reason why we should not have the same privilege.
