In thinking of my experience during the forty years in which I have been interested in Christian Science, my whole consciousness is full of gratitude to God for Mary Baker Eddy, for the dear one who mentioned Christian Science to one of my family that was bedfast, and also for the Christian Science practitioner, whose prayerful work brought a complete healing in two days.

Through this healing I turned to Christian Science with this thought in mind: "Any religion that can heal such a case is good enough for me." At the time, I was a student of the Bible and a member of an orthodox church. I obtained "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy and began to study the weekly Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. And in my humble way I tried to put into practice what I was learning.

My first demonstration of Truth came after I had walked day after day from one end of the city to the other trying to find work. One day I decided to go home and read Science and Health. In less than half an hour someone knocked at my door and said that I was wanted at a place just two blocks from where I was living. I worked at this place until I enlisted in World War I.
