The testimonies in our periodicals have been of such inspiration and comfort to me that I want to express my gratitude and tell of a healing in the hope that it may help others. I turned to Christian Science as a last resort after several prominent surgeons had stressed the necessity of a major operation for an internal condition from which I was suffering. This was accompanied by such severe hemorrhages that on several occasions I almost lost consciousness. The temptation to resort to surgery was very persistent, and at these times I prayed earnestly never to stray from the teachings of Christian Science.

I loved the truth and was very anxious to prove its healing efficacy. Hymn No. 123 from the Christian Science Hymnal, particularly the second verse, was of inestimable help, and many times while driving alone to my place of business I fairly shouted the words, trying to silence the suggestions of error. Only those nearest me knew of the difficulty, and through spiritual strength I was able to carry on normal activities, which included keeping house besides running my own business.

One day while I was at business the condition became more aggravated than usual. Just as soon as I arrived home, I called the practitioner who had been helping me. I was greatly discouraged and told her that I could not go on like this any longer. She very lovingly assured me that it was not necessary to do so. I shall never forget the love she expressed, and after I had talked with her, the fear began to subside. I then retired to my room and started to read Christ Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.
