THE TRUTH IS FOR EVERYBODY

Education , a free press, the printed word, are the right and heritage of free peoples everywhere. Ignorance and illiteracy are the working tools of tyrants, because to encourage literacy would weaken their hold on the masses. Dictators, who enslave their countrymen, endeavor to keep them in mental darkness. Today enlightened and freedom-loving thinkers in many countries realize that education and literacy are vital to any free nation. As a result, there is an upsurge of education and literacy in some previously backward countries.

Christ Jesus healed the ignorant, the poor, the outcast, the miserable leper, the blind beggar. He did not limit the receptive thought as to its ability or capacity to receive the healing benefits of what he taught. He did not deny anyone the right to know the truth, to understand God's allness and the real man's perfection as the child of God.

Through her discovery of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy restored to the world Jesus' spiritual and expansive concept of freedom, which is implied in his words (John 8:32). "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
