Christian Science has been a great comfort to me. I have had many blessings through the study and application of it, and I am sincerely grateful.

Of numerous healing experiences I should like to mention three which were especially significant to me. The first was a healing of pleurisy. Before coming into Christian Science I had had attacks of this trouble for several winters. Soon after taking up the study of this religion I had another severe attack. I called a practitioner, and help was lovingly given. In a few days I called the practitioner and advised her that I was entirely free. That was the end of the pleurisy, and I have never had another attack since that time, which was over twenty-five years ago.

The second of these healings occurred when we were living near Lake Michigan. Some friends and I planned to spend a week end at a cottage on the lake. We were to leave for the cottage on a Friday evening, but early that morning I awakened very ill with influenza. My first thought was that I would be unable to go with my friends, and I felt very much disappointed. After entertaining quite a sense of self-pity I realized I must do something about the situation. I spent several quiet hours studying the weekly Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly, reading the Sentinel, and praying. I became so absorbed in the truth that I forgot about our plans. During the middle of the afternoon a great sense of the Christ, Truth, flooded my consciousness with deep love, peace, and joy. Then all pain and fever disappeared, and I was instantaneously healed. I was ready to go with my friends that evening.
