Christian Science was presented to me at a time when I was an invalid because of a serious heart complaint. I was unable to perform any household tasks or to go out of doors. The doctor could give me no hope of improvement. I rebelled against the thought of continued invalidism and prayed to God. After reading several copies of the Sentinel, I read "Science and Health with Key to Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Then I decided to consult a Christian Science practitioner.

I shall never forget how I felt after my first treatment. I was so exhilarated and uplifted that I seemed to be treading on air. The result of the practitioner's consecrated work was that I was healed of the heart complaint in a few days. I commenced leading an active life, going out each day, and performing all my household duties.

After studying for a little time I realized that Christian Science was what I had been seeking all my life. Soon I learned that God does not punish us by sending sickness and disease, for lie is Love and bestows all good upon everyone. I was healed of asthma without any specific work being done for it and of bilious headaches, which had often prostrated me for a whole day. Lumbago used to be an annual occurrence with me, but through my continued study and application of the truth, the attacks gradually lessened in severity and finally disappeared.
