"THANK YOU, GOD!"

[Of Special Interest to Children]

A dear friend of mine, Melodie-Anne, had a beloved cat, Buttons, who had a family of four kittens. Three of them were sleek and black like their mother, but the fourth had long, misty-gray fur. Because of her color, Melodie-Anne called this one Misty.

In a very short time suitable homes were found for the three little black kittens, but when Misty was nearly four months old, no home had yet been found for her. Melodie-Anne would have liked to keep this kitten, but there were many reasons why she could not keep both Misty and Buttons. One was that the kitten seemed quite wild and restless, not at all like gentle Buttons. So something had to be done about finding Misty a right home, a place where she could receive the special care and training that she needed.

Melodie-Anne had been going to a Christian Science Sunday School and had seen many proofs of God's love by applying the truths she had learned there. She was quite sure that Christian Science could help her to find a home for her kitten. She asked her mother to help her pray. Together they turned expectantly to the Bible, where they found many precious promises of God's tender, loving care for all His creatures. One of the promises which Melodie-Anne liked best was this (Ps. 84:3): "Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young."
