"JOY COMETH IN THE MORNING"

Students of Christian Science learn through their religion that joy is spiritual, not material. Material joys are fleeting and subject to human emotions. They are conditioned by many outside influences, by places, persons, and things. They change as do shadows with the slightest turn. But spiritual joy is lasting. It cannot be touched by anything that would cause it to tarnish, spoil, or reverse itself. True joy is constant. It is pure. It is available.

In Psalms we read (30:4, 51): "Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness . . . . Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." When we sing Hymn No. 425 in the Christian Science Hymnal, we echo the promise in the Psalm:
