For a number of years I have been interested in Christian Science and have received much help and enlightenment from its study. One outstanding healing occurred several years ago while our family was living in northwestern Alberta, Canada. Our youngest son was sixteen at that time. One evening after playing in the deep snow with some other boys, he had an attack of some kind and came into the house gasping for breath. I asked him if he would like me to read to him from the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. He was unable to speak, but he nodded his head. I read to him for a few moments, but he grew worse.

Then I closed the book and quite calmly but firmly spoke his name and told him that there was absolutely nothing wrong with God's image and likeness, his true self, and that therefore he was at the standpoint of perfection. Immediately the gasping ceased, and he breathed freely. I sat in awe, feeling so uplifted in God's presence that I was only able to say, "Thank You, Father."

Some time later, while spending the night with an older married brother, the boy had another attack. His brother came for me, and I asked him and his wife to read the ninety-first Psalm while I worked for the boy. I had the same calm, reassuring feeling I had had before, and the trouble soon left. There has been no return of it. This same boy later finished a four-year term in the Air Force. I am grateful for his safe return and for that of our second son, who served four years in World War II.
