INTUITION

Intuition is not gained through reasoning. A dictionary says that "intuition" is "innate or instinctive knowledge." Christian Science teaches that such "instinctive knowledge" or intuition comes from purity and spirituality of thought. When the clamor of false material sense is shut out, we can hear God speaking and be aware of the truths He is imparting.

We can prepare ourselves to receive intuitive thoughts by casting out of consciousness the material claims that clamor for attention and by cultivating receptivity to Truth. Intuition may lead us to conclusions long before the material evidence has changed to support such conclusions. For example, we may know intuitively that we are well before the evidence of disease has vanished, or we may know the worldly problem is solved before conditions show any change.

The author was led to Christian Science intuitively. Deep down in his heart he knew that this Science held the answer to his questions and was the religion he was seeking, long before he had any healings or felt any inclination to give up pleasure in matter. He attended the Christian Science church, he knew not why, except that always during the services, there came to him a wonderful feeling of peace and harmony.
