"TAKE YE AWAY THE STONE"

Man, God's spiritual image and likeness, is the perfect, eternal expression of Life. Each idea or manifestation of God is, according to Christian Science, as interminable as God is. Christ Jesus' understanding of the spiritual verities of being enabled him to do mighty works. His own triumph over death and the grave was a conclusive victory for Life, God.

Speaking of his resurrection, Mary Baker Eddy declares in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (pp. 44, 45), "There were rock-ribbed walls in the way, and a great stone must be rolled from the cave's mouth; but Jesus vanquished every material obstacle, overcame every law of matter, and stepped forth from his gloomy resting-place, crowned with the glory of a sublime success, an everlasting victory."

Jesus' understanding of God enabled him to overcome every obstruction to the true sense of being, every mortal belief in terminable life, He knew that nothing can destroy Life, God, or Life's idea, man. His understanding of the omnipotence and omnipresence of God was the truth which rolled the stone away.
