I am indeed profoundly grateful...

I am indeed profoundly grateful for Christian Science, through which I have enjoyed much freedom from illness for many years. Christian Science was presented to me when I was facing surgery for a serious internal condition. I was an only child, loved very deeply by my father, and when a Christian Science friend told me that God loved me even more than my human father, I earnestly pondered this thought of God's love. Like Job, I was thinking (23:3), "Oh that I knew where I might find him!"

I called on a Christian Science practitioner and was asked to secure the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I did so, and in reading it I learned that God is Life, Truth, and Love and that He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. After making many statements of truth, the practitioner requested that when I returned to see her. I bring a list of fifty Godlike qualities.

This I did, I was then told to bring a list of fifty more such qualities, and on the third trip a list of another fifty. I learned that as God's reflection I express each of these Godlike qualities. Moreover, I learned that there is a solution to every problem, and that we obtain this solution not by dwelling on the problem, but by turning completely away from it and looking to divine Mind and its manifestation.
