To give glory to God and to help others, I should like to testify to the blessings I have received through Christian Science. I learned about Science at a lecture. After a few minutes there I realized that I had found what I had been searching for since childhood, though when I came away from the lecture, I could not have repeated a word of what was said.

Two days after that I was struggling with a chronic condition of the throat and chest when the thought suddenly came to me that God can do anything. Turning thought to God, I said: "I really want to do right, God. Show me how." I thought of God for several minutes; then I felt quite normal. That was nine years ago. and the difficulty has never returned.

A few months later I was freed from the smoking habit of twenty years' standing. The moment I realized that through God I could be liberated, the healing came. From the time I first knew of Christian Science I ceased drinking anything alcoholic except wine, and this I believed was not wrong to drink. However, in my heart I was not satisfied. One Wednesday evening as I was coming away from a testimony meeting in a Church of Christ, Scientist, I thought: "I realize that alcoholic beverages do a great deal of harm to men in many ways. In order, therefore, to help my fellow men I really want to stop drinking." At that very moment I became free from the desire for wine.
