"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Ps. 46:1). During a time of great mental and physical distress God's comforting promises from the Bible and the healing truths found in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy gave me courage, strength, and hope.

I was healed of a severe nervous breakdown through the help of a Christian Science practitioner and the prayers of my family. During this breakdown, which lasted several months, I was troubled with insomnia. Sometimes I lay awake for entire nights without sleeping. The fear of exhaustion was almost overwhelming, and I prayed for strength to care for my baby and our home.

I sought refuge in Love and Truth and thus proved that health and strength are indestructible because they are the God-given right-, of man. The omnipotent, loving care of our Father-Mother God upheld me during this trial, and I was able to carry on with most of my duties as mother and home-maker. Fear was replaced by trust and courage, and the daily study of the Lesson-Sermons from the Christian Science Quarterly brought a clearer understanding of God. Normal sleep returned, and I was healed in Christian Science. I now rejoice in complete freedom.
