ELSIE LEARNS ABOUT ILLUSIONS

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Sunday was the day which Elsie liked best, for then she could go to the Christian Science Sunday School while her father attended the morning church service. There she had learned of perfect God and of man, His perfect child. Father and Elsie were the only Christian Scientists in their home, and she loved the time alone with him while going to and from church. Father talked to her of God as Love and explained that He was always with each of His children, loving and caring for them.

Elsie also looked forward to waiting in the church foyer each Sunday with a clear friend while her father taught a class in the later session of the Sunday School. This was held in the auditorium after the morning service.

Her friend listened while Elsie repeated what the teacher had told her class in the early session of Sunday School. Sometimes the teacher gave Elsie a card with references for her to read from the Bible and from the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Elsie could not read the big words. So whenever she had a card, her friend looked up the references in the books and read them aloud to her.
