It is more than twenty years...

It is more than twenty years since, in that extremity which is God's opportunity, I began to understand that the only law which can correctly govern human affairs is the divine law of God. With earnest study of the Bible and the works of Mary Baker Eddy I have proved that whatever the problem its solution lies in the application of Christian Science. When this Science has been honestly, consistently, and trustfully utilized, the result has been the healing of illness, grief, and lack.

Of the many demonstrations of this scientific power of Love, I should like to tell of my first one, which is still a convincing memory. After a broken marriage I could see no means by which to meet my obligations or care for my children. My health failed from the shock. In a grave condition I was sent to a sanitarium. I wanted only to die to escape my suffering.

But as I turned to God in prayer the thought came to me that in my youth I had learned a little bit about Christian Science. Though I had been bedridden, I got up the next morning, which was Sunday, dressed myself, and took a cab to the nearest Church of Christ, Scientist. I listened to the service and afterward found a practitioner, who gave me loving help while I began the study of Christian Science. In a week I returned home well.
