SUMMER DAWN

"Let there be light." The darkness ends;
The sky grows lighter; rising gold
Shines down upon the waiting world,
A scene of beauty to behold.
The birds are stirring, early song
Sounds with its liquid melody
That, swelling note by avian note,
Is borne along from tree to tree.
As once again a day begins,
There is a grandeur in this hour;
Creation seems so very plain
With gratitude for God's great power.
"Let there be light." Majestic phrase!
God's light illumines all our days.
