Most persons...do not know, or could not name on request, the religious beliefs peculiar to their own church, according to a recent survey.

Denomination...apparently is not regarded as so important. Churchgoers were polled in a score of American cities to find out why they attend the church of their choice. Among the reasons... were: "Because of its particular beliefs."-62 per cent. "I grew up in it."-53 per cent. "My parents belonged."-50 per cent. "My friends go there."-19 per cent. "It's right nearby."-18 per cent. "I like the minister."-15 per cent. "Because of its Sunday School facilities."-12 per cent. "To please my husband (or wife)."-6 per cent. "No other church is near."-5 per cent. "I like the building." -4 per cent.
