GOOD IS RIGHT AT HAND

Man is perfect now. The understanding of spiritual man heals the belief that man is a sick or suffering mortal, that he is sinful, or poor, or weak, that he is in any other sort of condition or circumstance which he must overcome. Certainly, error must be overcome, but at the same time the truth must be kept in thought that man's innate perfection is untouched by whatever discord seems to be present.

"Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy gives an absolute statement of this truth under the marginal heading "Indestructible relationship." Here Mrs. Eddy says (p. 470), "God is the creator of man, and, the divine Principle of man remaining perfect, the divine idea or reflection, man, remains perfect." In the next paragraph, she continues the same thought, when she states unequivocally, "The relations of God and man, divine Principle and idea, are indestructible in Science; and Science knows no lapse from nor return to harmony, but holds the divine order or spiritual law, in which God and all that He creates are perfect and eternal, to have remained unchanged in its eternal history."

If a healing seems to be delayed, might it not be well to consider one's standpoint in regard to perfection? Is one accepting incompleteness or inharmony as a fact?
