Following an accident in which...

Following an accident in which I sustained what appeared to be a fractured bone in the region of my hip, I worked prayerfully with "the scientific statement of being," given on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Soon I realized that the pain, which had been extreme, had left.

I shall never cease being grateful for divine Love's care for me at that time. Utter strangers carried me to my apartment on the fourth floor. When the suggestion of a hospital was made, I replied, "As soon as I can get to my telephone, I shall have help." I called a Christian Science practitioner and help was graciously given.

We had many talks with each other by telephone over a period of twelve days, during which time I made daily progress in walking. On the twelfth day, with the aid of but one walking stick, I went down and up the stairs alone. Upon the insistence of a friend whom I felt it wise to satisfy, I permitted an X-ray photograph to be taken. The picture showed that a fractured bone in the pelvis had been perfectly healed. In less than a month I was walking normally without a stick and taking up my usual activities.
