Throughout the many years in which I have studied Christian Science and wholly depended on it for protection and guidance, I have had wonderful demonstrations of healing. Of these I will mention some which stand out in my memory.

From young womanhood I had suffered severe attacks of tonsillitis, which grew in frequency and severity. Becoming discouraged with all material remedies, I called a Christian Science practitioner. Her loving patience and spiritual understanding helped to destroy the fear in my thought, and the attacks became less frequent and less severe until they no longer came at all. That healing took place nearly forty years ago, yet I still think of it with great gratitude. A severe sprain, which made my wrist both painful and helpless, was healed in one treatment, and I was able to use my hand and my arm normally in performing my household duties.

Years later, after losing all my property during the depression years, I became despondent and full of self-pity. With unlovely thoughts for company, I became a great sufferer from arthritis and asthma. My almost helpless condition roused me to the fact that I must get rid of my mental apathy and gain a better understanding of God. Through earnest work in Christian Science and occasional help at different times from practitioners I was finally healed of the discordant conditions. At eighty-five years of age I now lead an active life.
