The words "Christian Science"...

The words "Christian Science" have great spiritual significance for me. A few years ago I was moving some material on my place with the car, when suddenly I felt a sharp pain in the lower part of my right side. I got out of my car and straightened myself, but the pain was becoming more violent. It was difficult for me to walk without attracting attention.

I expected to go into the house and do some Christian Science work in accordance with the instructions given in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, but when I reached my room I fell onto the bed. My wife came into the room and asked if I had had an accident. I said that I had not, but that I did have a severe pain in my body which I could not tolerate very long as it was getting worse by the minute.

My wife summoned our two daughters, who lived in the same block. They were soon at my bedside and asked what they could do. I asked one of them to read to me from Science and Health and requested the other to telephone for help from a Christian Science practitioner in a nearby city. The daughter returned saying she was unable to get in contact with the practitioner. Then I asked her to send a telegram to a practitioner in Seattle, Washington, and to say, "Please help me," and sign my name.
