INVOKING GOD'S LAW

Many are enabled through Christian Science to invoke the law of Spirit, God, which annuls the so-called laws of matter and disease. Mary Baker Eddy speaks of St. John's spiritual vision of "a new heaven and a new earth" in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and she asks (p. 91), "Have you ever pictured this heaven and earth, inhabited by beings under the control of supreme wisdom?"

This new heaven and new earth are the domain of spiritual sense, and Mrs. Eddy introduces us to this domain and to its laws in Christian Science. It is here and now, "within you," as Christ Jesus said (Luke 17:21). Christian Science reveals man not as a material being, governed by material laws, but as a spiritual being, as the image and likeness of God, and it also reveals God as the only governing power of the spiritual universe, which is the dwelling place of the real man.

Isaiah must have glimpsed this new heaven and earth, seen so fully at a later time by the Revelator, for he declared (Isa. 33:22), "The Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king."
