Church Dedications

Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.

(First Church).

Members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Vernon, will dedicate their church in two special services Sunday [June 10]. The church is located at the corner of Marshall and Lamar Streets.

Christian Science was introduced to Vernon in 1918, when ... [three people interested in this religion] began holding church services every Sunday morning. Others joined, and in 1922 ... [they used an] office in the city hall as a meeting place. Two years later the group moved to the Woodmen of the World Hall and continued to meet there until the erection of a church building.
