INSTANCY

John 6:21

"Immediately the ship was at the land
Whither they went."
Jesus, trusting God, could take command,
With love unspent,
On each occasion. He was not controlled
By time or space,
But, knowing good, could steadfastly behold
His Father's face.

Immediately he made the infirm one whole;
The blind gained sight;
The outcast leper, throughly cleansed by Soul,
Rejoiced in light.

Dear Father, help me to behold Thy grace
This very hour,
Thy love alone, unlimited: no space
Outside Thy power.
Teach me to know without delay Thy law
Of vast resource
And in Thy light to see, as Jesus saw,
Thy holy course.
