I should like to take this opportunity...
I should like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for Christian Science. For over forty-three years it has been our only physician and has met our every need. My husband has been healed of an internal rupture, colds, and the tobacco habit. My youngest daughter was healed of whooping cough, measles, and later of a nervous breakdown. Another daughter was quickly healed of a broken back, sustained in an accident. I too have had many healings throughout the years. Among them were those of whooping cough, which was met while I was talking with a practitioner, and a condition of neuritis in my hip, which was healed when I went to the Sanatorium of the Christian Science Benevolent Association, San Francisco, California.
I was wonderfully protected during an automobile accident several years ago, when I was returning from my annual association meeting. I was crossing a busy intersection when a car that had been remodeled into a wartime ambulance, but which had no siren, came through the red light signal and struck my right rear wheel. The impact spun my car around so that I missed a telephone pole by inches. I declared, "God is my Life, and there are no accidents in Mind." After having my tire changed and my fender straightened I was able to drive ninety-six miles to my home. There were no ill effects from the experience.
These are just a few of the many instances in which we have proved the allness of God. I am truly grateful to God, the Giver of all good, to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to the dear, gentle woman, Mary Baker Eddy, who devoted her life to giving us the truth. And I am also grateful for class instruction. With the Psalmist I say (Ps. 107:8), "Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!"—(Mrs.) Luella C. King, San Diego, California.
