Our family came into Christian Science...

Our family came into Christian Science through my brother's healing of epilepsy, which the doctors had given up as incurable. In this hour of great need my mother heard that Christian Science heals. Immediately she arranged for an appointment with a practitioner, and my brother was completely healed in one treatment. This healing has remained permanent.

When I was a new student of Christian Science, I experienced an instantaneous healing of fallen organs. I had suffered untold distress for over two years and had entertained alarming fears of passing on. One night I was alone at home with no telephone at hand. I had only a small knowledge of how to apply the truth in Christian Science, but I cried out in my distress to God. Immediate relief and comfort came. I found myself repeatedly declaring, "God is my Life." When I awakened in the morning I was free. This healing led me to take a forward step in Christian Science by subscribing for each of the Christian Science periodicals. Through the good I found in these organs of The Mother Church, I was lifted above the false sense of man as existing in matter.

Gratitude for Christian Science and for church activity, together with the desire to leave all for Christ, enabled me to give up coffee and tea. I found myself completely satisfied without them. I was healed of inflammatory rheumatism, heart disease, recurring backaches, sick headaches, colds, and sore throat. A number of healings took place in our home merely through the reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
