I offer this testimony as a token of gratitude for many blessings received through the study of Christian Science and for all the avenues through which the truth is going out to meet the needs of the world today. I am especially grateful for the protection that is afforded us through the study and application of the truths of Christian Science.

Shortly after I became interested in Science during the summer of 1941, I received notice from my draft board that I was to report for induction into the Army in thirty days. As this time drew near, I asked a practitioner to take up protective work for me. Inasmuch as I was new in Science, the practitioner recommended that I make weekly visits to her office, where the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly were studied and explained to me. In addition, I was given citations to study from the Bible and from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

In April, 1943, our division embarked for North Africa. I spent a total of twenty-eight months' combat duty in Italy, France, and Germany. Although I made three amphibious assault landings and had many narrow escapes, I came through unscathed.
