Each day finds me growing more and more grateful for Christian Science. Having grown up in Science and having had the benefit of being in a Christian Science family where I always felt the protection and ever-presence of Truth, I grew to take these blessings for granted. About twenty-five years ago, however, I found myself manifesting a large goiter. It changed my appearance so much that people I had known all my life did not recognize me. A practitioner worked with me to know the perfection of God's idea as ever present.

I had a position where I was before the public, and many suggestions of what steps should be taken materially were given. I was so grateful to be able to thank each well-meaning person for his kind thoughts and to tell him honestly that I was being cared for. At each Wednesday testimony meeting I would hope to hear of the healing of a condition such as mine. One Wednesday evening I was grateful to hear of just such a healing. The testifier used this statement from Hebrews (4:12): "The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

In searching my thought I discovered that I had a deep resentment toward my father. I realized that just as I was in truth an idea of God, reflecting all His qualities, so also was my father. As I expressed greater love for him, a harmonious relationship was established. I am sure this had much to do with my physical healing.
