"To those leaning on the sustaining...

"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, Pref., p. vii). Christian Science has sustained me under many difficult and unpleasant experiences. With the help of a practitioner I was healed of a broken wrist. I was able to be in my place as organist of my church within a week, but the healing was not complete until I learned that no breakage or accident could happen to God's spiritual idea, man. A twisted ankle which caused severe pain was also healed with the help of a practitioner, and I was able to be at my post the following Sunday.

At another time I was unconscious for half an hour as the result of escaping gas in a recreation building, where I was a worker at the time. My husband repeated statements of Truth, especially "the scientific statement of being" (ibid., p. 468), after which I became conscious. I was completely free the next day, and there were no aftereffects. While trying to know the unreality of a stiff and painful neck, I realized that I had been criticizing someone. I corrected my thinking, and the condition was quickly healed.

Sciatica, which attacked me suddenly, was healed after my consciousness was cleared of resentment toward a member of my family. For a week I studied the Bible and Science and Health almost constantly. As more love for my fellow men was felt within me and expressed by me, I was freed from the painful condition. I am grateful for the healing of this and of many other erroneous conditions which have been overcome through the study and application of this demonstrable truth, Christian Science. Of most importance to me is the spiritual growth and understanding which have been gained through solving these problems.
