"TESTIMONY OF SOUL"

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE proclaims and proves by demonstration the oneness and allness of God. Mary Baker Eddy elucidates this teaching in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key the Scriptures," where she writes under the marginal heading "Testimony of Soul" (p. 253): "I give immortality to man, for I am Truth. I include and impart all bliss, for I am Love. I give life, without beginning and without end, for I am Life. I am supreme and give all, for I am Mind. I am the substance of all, because I AM THAT I AM."

Being is the evidence of Soul, the indestructible I AM, the infinite individuality which forever asserts its own supremacy and authority. The one Ego, infinite Soul, constitutes the individuality and identity of all that it includes. Every formation in the divine creation is an idea of Soul and is ceaselessly testifying to its divine origin.

The supposition that Soul lives in matter is a false sense of existence, from which arise delusion, sin, disease, and death. This sense which says that Soul is in body and that Mind is in matter is without validity. Christ Jesus sternly rebuked sense testimony when he said of the devil, or evil (John 8:44): "He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."
