I am grateful beyond words for...

I am grateful beyond words for Christian Science. For over twenty-five years I have reaped the benefit of its teachings. My introduction to it was through witnessing the instantaneous healing of a case of pernicious anemia. My sister had been given up by doctors, who said they could do nothing more for her. A friend then recommended that the family try Christian Science and sent some literature. We got in touch with a practitioner, and after one treatment my sister was able to dress and join the family circle. There was no convalescence. She just went about her activities as she had done before her illness.

At that time we lived in a country town where Christian Science was comparatively unknown. We depended on the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings for inspiration and were occasionally visited by the practitioner who had healed my sister. I had been under medical care for a severe case of constipation, for which a specialist had recommended an operation. Through reading the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, my thought became so uplifted that the problem was solved in Christian Science without an operation. A thought that helped me greatly was this one from Science and Health (p. 283): "Mind is the source of all movement, and there is no inertia to retard or check its perpetual and harmonious action."

Glasses, which I had worn from early childhood, were discarded. Now, at nearly ninety years of age, I can read the small print of newspapers. Since my first healing my general health has been excellent, and I have been guided and enabled to do work of a different kind from any I had done before. Through the protecting power of Truth I was unharmed when knocked down by a motorcar.
