This is an expression of gratitude to God, as well as to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, who gave her revelation to the world to bless all mankind.

Many years ago a friend, who later became my wife, presented Christian Science to me, and I attended a Wednesday evening testimony meeting with her. I was so impressed with the testimonies and remarks that I immediately purchased a copy of the Bible and of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. In the Lesson-Sermon for that week in the Christian Science Quarterly was the statement on page 346 of Science and Health, "We cannot serve both God and mammon at the same time." This statement claimed my attention, and I decided then and there to serve God only. I discarded the medicine I had been taking regularly for constipation, and I had an instantaneous healing of that condition.

While at the service station where I was employed, I was struck by an automobile and injured. After I had been taken home, the company doctor, who called, said I had a basal fracture of the skull and would have to be home about six weeks. However, a Christian Science practitioner was called to give treatment, and in five days I was back at my work entirely well.
