OUR DUTY TO MANKIND

A Meeting Held in the Extension of The Mother Church on Tuesday, June 7, 1955, at 7.30 P.M.

Progress for the individual Christian Scientist and his local branch Church of Christ, Scientist, is inseparable from fulfillment of his duty to all mankind, speakers at this meeting emphasized.

The compelling need for greater awakening to the universal, healing mission of Christian Science in the world today was the theme of the meeting, which was on the subject, "Our Duty to Mankind." Speakers were James Harry McReynolds of Dallas, Texas, Chairman; Mrs. Grace Banks Sammons of Chicago, Illinois; Herbert E. Rieke of Indianapolis, Indiana; Mrs. Gertrude Morris Verrall of New York City, and Ralph B. Scholfield of London, England.

The keynote of the meeting was the parable of the good Samaritan, who reached out to his suffering brother's need with the love that reflects Love. Our opportunity to do this both within and without the church was stressed by the speakers. Practical ways were pointed out in which we can share the immeasurable good that has come to us individually through Christian Science, and examples were cited of the increasing impetus that has been given to the Cause of Christian Science through such steps.
