Christian Science found me in...

Christian Science found me in a very much distressed condition, both mentally and physically. A doctor was giving me biweekly injections for rheumatism and anemia, but without effect. I became interested in Science when my children discontinued attendance at the Sunday School of an orthodox church. I thought it could not benefit them to go if they did not want to, but I was not happy that they would have no religious education.

Then one day a little girl invited them to a Christian Science Sunday School. I went along to the church and attended my first service in a Church of Christ, Scientist. It convinced me that I had found the way of Life. I borrowed the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and said, "Well, if this is true, I need never suffer again; nothing can harm me." With that I accepted its teachings wholeheartedly, resolved to trust in them, since I felt I had nothing else to which I could turn for help.

I literally based each day on the truths I read from the textbook. Sometimes I took only one sentence and held to it throughout a whole day. Sometimes I took one spiritual quality—love or gratitude, perhaps—and claimed it as a very real part of my true being as God's reflection. My health and strength were built up; weakness and pain just fell away. I became stronger and happier, and in two weeks I felt that I could get along without a maid. Since then I have worked harder than ever before and have known far greater happiness and well-being.

Membership in The Mother Church and a branch church have brought many blessings and much-appreciated privileges. My children have been greatly enriched by the Sunday School teaching. My daughter experienced a healing the very first time she attended, at the age of nine years.

The Christian Science Monitor gives an accurate and calm presentation of world news and inspiring stories of individuals at work and at play. These and its reviews of art literature, stage, and screen, as well as its comics and humorous stories, bring into our home enlightenment, beauty, culture and fun, in addition to healing for all the family. I am deeply grateful for the work of the Christian Science organization, the outcome of Mrs. Eddy's great love for God and for mankind.—(Mrs.) Ruby Robson, London, England.
