For many years I searched to...

For many years I searched to find God. When in response to my question, "What is Christian Science?" my employer gave me some copies of the Sentinel, I knew immediately that I needed to search no further. Within a few weeks after I began reading the Christian Science literature, I found I no longer needed to wear glasses, and I was freed from migraine.

I began to study the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and these sustained me through many trials. Among the healings I have experienced are those of colds and a cavity in a tooth. The effect of burns was healed instantaneously as I grasped in some measure the unreality of matter through reading Mrs. Eddy's words (Science and Health, p. 479), "Does that which we call dead ever see, hear, feel, or use any of the physical senses?" The complete healing of smoking came after a long period of time, during which I had to learn to let go of a false sense of responsibility. When I set myself to learn all I could about Church and to put aside human opinions, I was healed in one visit to a practitioner.

I am grateful that my employer introduced me to the Wednesday evening testimony meetings, for they have helped me to overcome discouragement and to formulate decisive thoughts in order to express my gratitude. These expressions of gratitude have resulted in opening the way for further spiritual understanding.
