Membership Unity Forwards Their Progress

[Note: Extracts from three relocation reports prepared for the Reading Room Division]

Willimantic, Connecticut

In May, 1953, our Reading Room was located in our church edifice and was open nine hours a week. At our annual meeting in October the members agreed that it was important to have a Reading Room in a location more accessible to the public. Within a few days it was learned that an ideal location in the center of the business district would soon be available. Two display windows were recognized as a perfect means for making authorized Christian Science literature better known. Upon further investigation we learned that the modest rent included the almost new wall-to-wall carpeting, and that the air conditioner then in use could be purchased.

The Reading Room committee supervised the redecorating of the rooms, the installation of window lighting, and the moving of furnishings and books from the church edifice to the new quarters. New chairs and lamps for the study room were purchased.
