For thirty years I have received blessings from the application of Christian Science, and now I feel that it is time to tell of some of the experiences I have had. "Man's extremity is God's opportunity," it is said, and I have found this statement to be true. My introduction to Christian Science came at a time when I had not slept much for weeks, because of a nervous condition accompanied by extreme fear. At that time "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was presented to me. After I had read the chapter on Prayer I retired, and I slept well all night. My recovery from the nervous condition was rapid, and it was followed by the healing of a liver ailment of a year's standing. Smoking and drinking were overcome at the same time.

The change in my attitude toward my family was so surprising to them that they were all eager to find out what I had found that would cause such a transformation in so short a time. As a result, my father, mother, two sisters, a brother, and a grandmother all became sincere students of Science.

Of the many healings I have had through Science the most outstanding one was that of arthritis, which had handicapped me for seven years. My right arm was in a helpless condition. A practitioner referred me to the Bible account of the man Jesus healed at the pool of Bethesda. His thought of helplessness made him think that he could not be healed because someone else always got into the pool before him. He needed to take his stand for Truth and see that the kingdom of God and its perfection were within him right where he was at that very time. After the practitioner had made this explanation I knew what I had to do, and as a result of corrected thinking I was healed.
