SALLY AND THE SPONGE

[Of Special Interest to Children]

JESUS taught spiritual truths through simple everyday things—like a lamb, a sparrow, a lily, a mustard seed. So it is not too surprising that a little girl named Sally once learned a lesson from a kitchen sponge.

The sponge was a fat yellow one, which Sally's mother used when she washed the dishes. Sally wiped the dishes every evening, and sometimes she and her mother sang a little song they had made up:
